e-Justice in Germany: Just Do It!

Handakte WebLAWg writes that Bremen is the first Bundesland to introduce e-justice, on 1st December. Lawyers, citizens and companies can electronically file complaints and other documents at all Courts and the City of Bremen (except for the ‘Sozialgericht’, i.e. court for labour law cases). The documents must be signed with an electronic signature (I presume a “qualified e-signature” ? (pdf)). In a next phase the notification of documents by the Courts should also become electronic.

Instead of only talking about it, they also do it! Well done! I am interested in feedback about this e-justice project, so don’t hesitate to send me an e-mail or refer me to relevant sources about this issue.

Background information about e-justice and e-government in the EU Member States can be found on the e-Government observatory, providing factsheets by country and by topic.
